  A NEW WOODSON??

There are rumours circulating around the cycling world that Team Scuppernong have found a new incredible English climber.
The team, which has struggled to overcome the controversal loss of Truman Woodson six months ago, is yet to confirm whether the rumours are true.

Team Scuppernong have recently become an all English team once again. Team manager Joe commented, "We are proud to be all English, and I think it keeps the team united. That is not saying that our foreign riders haven't been very good, but I think an all English team can help develop cycling in this country. Through our national scouting programme we have probably let some great foreign riders slip through but it has always been our aim from day 1 to be and English team. I don't see how a team can call themselves Spanish if they don't have any Spanish riders."

Reports coming from their team base have revealed that there has recently been alot of activity, especially the training of a number of youngsters. However, following the arrival of their new rider, all this training has now stopped. Rumours suggest that this is so as much money as possible can go into the training of the "new Woodson". However, with results hard to come by for the team, and only 2 wins in 4 seasons, the money required to train this youngster is not yet available.
When asked about the talented rider that has been uncovered, Joe said that they were just rumours and he is focused on the development of the team.

If this rider does exist, there will soon be alot of pressure to replace the great Truman Woodson, as well becoming the new England climbing captain, with the imminent retirement of Keegan Shiable and Sterling Dorsher. Questions remain whether this youngster can cope with the pressure and succeed where other Scuppernong riders have failed.
